Day by Day

Rainy days are perfect for sitting down, getting cozy, and catching up on the blogs. Unfortunately, part of the problem of keeping up this blog is that so much of my life is geared towards the other site - the medical all-consuming part. However, I think I can probably list at least one non-school activity that occured every day this past week... let's see how lame this will be...

SUNDAY: Well, for starters this was the big marathon day in H-town and I had to drive much longer and much earlier to get to church's 7:15 am practice. Played the three services w/ el band, felt like I had been beat by 1pm but still went to lunch with friends, after which I felt even more exhausted. Home to study.

MONDAY: Student-society meeting, called padres, watched Spinal Tap.

TUESDAY: I didn't care what the weather was like anymore, I wanted to be outside! So after school I suited up and went for a glorious run in the pouring 50 degree rain - cold, but so refreshing. I loved being the only one out on the trails!

WEDNESDAY: Hard day, very sad patient seen during hospital rounds (see other blog). Called friend back home, I just needed to tell the ones I love how much they mean to me - especially after a day like that.

THURSDAY: What felt like one of the longest days in history - I think classes actually ran 24 hrs that day, instead of the usual 10! Got cookies ready for bake sale, then starbuck's to study. Band practice was it's usual welcome reprieve.

FRIDAY: Lunch b/w class with friends, got home @ 6pm, laying in my bed right now. I love Friday nights, I think if I claimed any night of the week as "my" night - one that I keep sacred, this would be mine. It's my chance to catch up with my thoughts that the bustle of the week often does not allow. Not to mention, the classmates usually don't decide to do anything much until later in the evening, or the next day, and whatever it is, it's always great!
