Whew! Classes and Finals are over, and if it's possible at all - while things aren't as scheduled as before, they are just as crazy. Here are a few lessons I've learned over the past few weeks:
(1) 'Done' with classes, doesn't always truly mean 'DONE' - people will still email you about grades, want to meet with you about report grades from 3 months ago, or have you work on 'last minute' projects.
(2) Winning is not always a great thing, especially if you have to write a massive research report as part of the 'prize'
(3) The most relaxing moments you will have are on the back of a horse - whether or not they are behaving - it is just wonderful!
(4) Noah is basically in love with me, or maybe it's just the big dorky black helmet I was wearing...
(5) Financial Aid should be called 'Financial Slave' - you have to really work hard to get the appropriate loans for grad school - no one seems to know anything, but they all want your money!
(6) If there is no food available for consumption in your house, and you suddenly decide you want to eat and therefore go grocery shopping and cook, your mother will promptly go out and buy massive quantities of everything you just bought and ask you why you are not eating it.
(7) NC State allows students to borrow iPods, simply wonderful!
(8) Males are irrepressibly drawn to fire - especially if it involves burning their arm or chest hair off.
(9) The closest and longest friendships you will have in life are with your siblings, love them like they won't be there tomorrow - and never miss an opportunity to ask them to do stuff (poor Brian!).
(10) I have missed hanging out with all of you so much - I can't wait for next Wednesday!

11. The easiest way to pay for grad school is to work for the school that you are currently a student of (yes, it can be done).
...unless you have to vacuum the cadaver lab. There's not enough money in the world...
carpet, in a cadaver lab? there certainly isn't enough money to clean that... ewww! And unfortunately, Baylor strongly discourages working while in school, the only form they will allow is work-study and that only takes 3K off the total tuition cost for the entire program, probably not worth it :(

Or maybe it was the BIG DORK wearing the big dorky helmet? Yeah, I'm going with that. Definitely.
3K not worth it??!! Joy, that's money that you don't have to pay. $5.00 would be worth it. As for vaccuming the cadaver lab, it's really not that bad until your roomates get the wise idea to hide under the sheets.
Me and "that roomate" would have a talk behind the barn.
and then "that roommate" might end up in the cadaver lab for real.
